The only downside was we had to sit outside on the patio and it was 95 degrees. The food was still delicious and we enjoyed it. We had the bread and butter, chicken fried cauliflower, and salisbury steak. Very tasty!
Flyover is such a unique and great restaurant that Columbia offers!
To the atmosphere, food and service, this restaurant is fantastic! They cycle out their menu very often to new dishes, and I love the concept of the menu as there is no appetizers, just shareable entrees. Typically 3-4 entrees will fill up my girlfriend and I. The best thing on the menu though is the chicken fried cauliflower! My goodness — the sauce they use with it so amazing. Obviously not all of the items are amazing, like the carnitas in our opinion just wasn’t that good, but it gets made up for in their drinks. The bartender is fantastic and the daiquiris are to die for! Although this is a very expensive restaurant, I would still highly recommend trying it at least once! My girlfriend and I have been here multiple times and still does not disappoint.
Doing a day trip in Columbia with our dogs, and found this fantastic spot where we could sit outside and enjoy some fantastic fare. We got to meet the head chef and what seemed like the whole staff as they came to say hi to the dogs, and they were all very friendly and accommodating.
We had the chef and waitress pick us out a menu, and they did not lead us astray. My favorite was the lamb meatballs and baba ganoush, while my wife's favorite was the chicken fried cauliflower on pureed smoked sweet potato.
Stopping here made our day trip extra special, we would definitely return to see what else comes up on this rotating menu.
The food was delicious. We loved the shareable dishes. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Definitely a yummy place to grab food while visiting Columbia!
I've had an inconsistent experience here. The first time I visited was a couple of years ago and I remember loving the food. I visited again recently and won't go back again. Paid $16 for four slices of over toasted bread, $20+ for a small not very good pizza, $20+ for three small pieces of fried fish and a few fries (which was good, but was a very small portion). For some reason I thought each small plate would provide a bite for four people, but learned that wasn't the case since we only had three pieces of fish.
Overall, the food we selected was okay. I had two plates and a drink that had over-powering flavor (note, I normally like spicy and strong flavors). This made for a really disjointed flavored meal. There are several other restaurants in Columbia that I feel have better food and that cost quite a bit less.
This aviation-themed bar/restaurant just blows you away with its ambiance and dishes. The servers and bartenders are truly engaged with the customers! Had an absolutely incredible experience. Just watching the beverage preparation is worth the trip!
Think of Flyover as more of a tapas restaurant with a midwestern theme. Had a carrot ginger spritz and the midwestern carnitas—fabulous! Their old-fashioned also gets great reviews.
Small Restaurant. The experience was wonderful. Service is great as soon as you walk in the door. Menu seems to change but the experience does not. You will get to know the people at the table next to you. The food and drinks were excellent as in the photos with descriptions. The ma and cheese is FIRE! The Lebanese Meatballs
Wood oven roasted spiced lamb and E3 ground beef meatballs “were a different taste for me” but very good.
Nice little place to go eat. I love the pretzels and dip, absolutely delicious.
